The White Sox Win! World Champs!!!
I can't believe it. My emotions are all over the board tonight. I have been a White Sox fan since I can remember knowing what major league baseball was. I can still remember the day the Sox traded for Carlton Fisk, who ended up being maybe my favorite baseball player of all-time... I know to this day the starting line up of the '83 White Sox, with Hoyt, Burns, Bannister, and Dotson in the rotation, and the heartbreak of seeing them lose to the O's in the ALCS. This day, this amazing day, I have just watched the White Sox win the World Series, and I don't know how to react to it. I wish more than anything that I was among friends, strangers, and other White Sox fans partying in the streets of Chicago.... to be honest, it hasn't sunk in yet. I yelled and screamed so much in game 2 and 3 that it almost seemed anti-climactic, in what in my obviously biased opinion was one of the greatest post-seasons in baseball history (that I have watched anyway.)
The White Sox won the World Series! The White Sox won the World Series! The words I never thought I would say....
